Tanger med, unloading 2 ferrys at the same time and then queue up in a row of nearly 1 km.

Delayed my day a lot :funmeterno:

Maybe that was an exception?!

Two week trip to Morocco in December

If you had to choose between foum zguid to mhamid and Zagora to merzouga. Which piste would you go for? I'm trying to squeeze in one of the gorges as per TheWarden's advice and take out one of the pistes. So which one shall I do?

I've modified the route and have made it more flexible and easy going. Reduced Marrakech to two days. I've also put in two days as buffer. 16 days in total. Thoughts?

Forgot to mention that I did a 2000km tour of Morocco as part of a group on my Africa Twin :mchappy: We did a few of Chris Scott's High Atlas, Anti Atlas and Sahara Routes....so I have some basic offroading knowledge that I hope will help me with this trip!

New plan:
- Dock Tangier Med at 11pm and gun it to Marrakech overnight, I can rest in the ferry beforehand
- stay two days in Marrakech
- drive to Ouarzazate via Telouet and Behaddou
- Ouarzazate to Agoudal
- Agoudal to Zagora
- Zagora to Merzouga
- Two days in Merzouga
- Merzouga to Midelt
- Midelt to Fes
- Two days in Fes
- Fes to Tangier via Chechaouen

looks great, will be fun!

I have been in Fes - nice place but a bit touristic and doesn't have to offer much. Maybe it could be better to stay just one day and then one day in chefchaouen?
I havent been to Cc, but i have been told from various travellers that it is a much better place to stay than Fes.

enjoy your trip!!:thumbup1:

Looks like you plan to do the piste from Tinrhir to Nekob, great route that.

It'd be worth checking at the dades gorge to see it the route to agoudal is open if theres snow

Till last week there was no snow at all up to the highest mountain peaks around this area. There is an easy gravel road between M'semrir and Agoudal for about 40km which goes up to nearly 3000m. So keep an eye on this section. Also Midelt could be very cold, especially if there's no sun. At Hotel Asmaa I have seen some photos with deep snow.
Have fun, Marocco is wonderful

2912m, October this year they were working on the piste, couple of alarming episodes squeezing 6 landcruisers through :)

Beginning december there was no road work any longer, but it seems that they have lifted the road for 5m ;-)
