DIE MOKASSINS DES ABENTEUERTOU to BMW Party For Grand Opening THE MOCCASINS OF ABENTEUERTOU will be presented to BMW MOTORRAD MARTIN (Erwin Martin Gmbh) at the party of Germany's oldest and largest BMW motorcycle dealership during the Grand Opening of their newest dealership, a BMW motorcycle "super store," in Weyarn, Germany. As American Carl Stearns Clancy (publication - MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURER) returned to Bavaria after becoming the first, fastest and youngest motorcyclist to circumnavigate the globe (1912-1913) with famed American actor and wit Will Rogers to direct the film THROUGH SWITZERLAND AND BAVARIA WITH WILL ROGERS (released in 1927), the moccasins of Abenteuertou will be returning to Bavaria. 52 years earlier a young American Indian, Falling Rocks, was taught how to become a globetrotting motorcyclist at BMW MOTORRAD MARTIN, to follow in the adventures of Winnetou, and eventually becoming named Abenteuertou and wearing moccasins as did Winnetou, or so the tall tail on the trails around the earth goes. Hans Muth, the famous designer of the BMW G/S, R90S, R100RS motorcycles, and now highly customized modern BMWs for Martin BMW, will be there, as will many other BMW customers, travelers and adventurers. It should be a adventurous event for globetrotters and motorcycle aficionados. I look forward to trading adventurous tales of adventures on the trails around the world from 1912 to today. |

One of the secrets shared by Hans A Muth during the event was how he saw the GS come to be. Hans clarified by saying that if it had not been for Hardy Muller (seen in photo with Muth April 10) figuring out how to work the prototype GS into the production line it would not have been. It was a fun reunion to see and hear Muller and Muth recount how the GS went from a concept to coming off the production line when "nobody is working" in the motorcycle division at BMW. Muth said had it not been for Hardy there would have been no GS.
"You can release and for the correctness: ist Hardy Müller, at that time Product-Planer for BMW Motorcycles and the Man who get the right feeling in autum 1978 by coming in my office and begged me to do something, because nobody is working anymore in the BMW Motorcycle GmbH due to the rumor that this section of BMW is in danger for a shut-down.And this is followed by looking out the window of one of these two men with an initial idea which lead to today's most wanted, produced and sold BMW Motorcycle categorie the GS-models.. Best HansA. |
