Garmin 176-one of the best?

Desperately looking to find the right GPS to go around the world and 176 just seems like the best. But what if I`m wrong? Any experiances?
Thanks a lot!

As far as I know the Garmin 176 is a marine GPS that accepts Garmin blue chart chips. These chips contain mainly coastal data and not much use for over landers. I would look for something else. Check out the 152, the V or the III+. These can accept simple vector street maps from Garmin’s software Map Source.
