Garmin 276C memory card
My Garmin 276C has a memory card which seems to be Garmin design. It not a standard SD or CF card. I suspect however that Garmin has put a standard micro SD card inside the little box which functions like a sled. Garmin memory cards are ridiculously expensive (Euro 150 or so for 512Mb) so I would like to see what is inside the sled but its a bit to tight to force it open.
Has anyone ever opened the little sled to see whats inside? cheers Noel exploreafrica.web-log.nl |
I haven't opened one up, but I doubt it.
These cards have been round for a few years now, a lot longer than the latest microSD's and similar cards which are now the norm in phone. |

276C extended memory of 2 gig
To whom is as attached to his Garmin 276C as I am;
there are some links out there but not so easy to find. There is a Garmin shop in Moscow who sells 2Gig Garmin card for the 276C! they are called Garminych, [url=http://www.garminych.ru/index.php?productID=829] I bought one via the internet. After 4 weeks received it, swapped the internals and ready. The 276C with the big 2 gig card is still a very potent GPS and navigation system! Cheers, Noel |
Thanks!
I still use the 276C and hope it will work for a long time. Be aware that the 276C has a limit of 900 maps. |
