Garmin nuvi 550/zumo 220 for Africa trip?

I have a old Garmin nuvi 550 that I converted into a zumo 220. I was wondering if it will hold up in Africa or should I invest in a garmin zumo 390 or save up for a montana?

I'm going to use OSM.
