Garmins, OSM and GPX Files
 

Apologies if this has been addressed before but I couldn't find anything that deals with this issue specifically.

I've got a Garmin Zumo 395LM with all the standard European maps on. After an embarrassingly vast amount of time messing about I have installed both an OpenStreetMap of Morocco and Olaf's Moroko-topo.

I have downloaded the GPX files for Morocco routes from the Sahara Overland site and.... nothing. I've tried dragging the files directly onto the internal storage and also exporting them to the unit via Basecamp. In both cases nothing shows up on the GPS. Is this because they are applicable to a non-Garmin map? do they need converting in some way?

Any help appreciated, I can't believe I'm the first person to have this issue.

The files are in gpx format so will work on any gps. However they are waypoints not routes so you won't see a route appear on the sat nav.

Have a look to see if the waypoints are there and if they every thing should be ok

So I'm basically a dumbass :D
