Olaf to Garmin Nuvi 265
As read in CS books, the "Olaf" maps look very useful, but being a part time ludite, I'm struggling to get them put on to the SD card on a Garmin Nuvi. I can't get the map to feature on Garmin Basecamp, Garmin Map install opens the tiles but doesn't install them on the device - I seem to be going round in circles (without a map!)
Can anyone offer help - leaving tomorrow am and would like to suss before. Thanks in anticipation HF:helpsmilie: |

Russ :( |
Hi Russ, is that you I met in Taliouine and Tata ?
In Bertrands absence he sent a private message containing an way of installing Olaf onto the gps unit. Sure he'll be along in a bit to provide more. Once I'm back home I'll see if I can find out how I did it. Memory/tech obviously failed me when I tried for you in Tata. Trust the rest of you trip went well without too many mutinies lol Cheers Mark |

Got to say we loved Morocco, but I need to get the mapping sorted for next time, what was that other system that the French people in Tata was using? I think you had it as well? stay in touch you have my email still? Russ |
got your email somewhere in the truck still got to unload/unpack
I didn't speak to the French group but recall you mentioning their system, was it the maps or the gps unit?. I use OSM maps with Olaf. Theres a useful sticky in this forum about using and installing OSM, very simple. I actually have 2 profiles on my Montana set up, one using osm and the other Olaf then I can easily switch between the two. You can enable both maps under one profile but I found it confused the routing (OSM is routable and will give turn but turn directions but Olaf isn't |
