Problem with new Garmin maps on Montana 600
 

I have recently purchased a Garmin update for European mapping and loaded it on to Basecamp (on a Mac). Utilising Mapinstall I saved the tiles I required to a micro SD card, which are now shown as on the card.

Unfortunately, even though the European mapping is enabled, the Montana screen the mapping displayed on the scree appears to be the basemap i.e. it lacks all detail.

As a last resort I carried out a master reset but to no avail. I have carried out this procedure in the past without any problem. Can anyone advise me as to what the problem may be and how it can be overcome please?

I have the Montana 600, don't have it with me so i cant check as i am abroad, but have you gone in to the settings and told it what maps to read. As i am pretty sure when I was using the OSM mapping I had to enable it and there was about 3 to choose from. It also might be worth checking if it is reading the SD card and again check the settings. Sorry if you have already done this.

Lone rider many thanks. It wasn't reading the SD card because some idiot (i.e. me) had forgotten to format the SD card.
