serial to usb converter (for garmin) ?
 

hi,

I have a garmin etrex vista. the only cable to plug it into a pc has a serial connector (to a pc com port). I've seen converters to turn this into usb, but also read something about some sort of codec to convert serial to usb signals.

anyone got one that works that they can recommend ?

You just need a Serial to USB converter cable for your PC, shouldn't cost you more than a few quid and they come with all the drivers you need to connect a RS232 device to your USB PC/Laptop

I have one here you can have for the cost of the postage, drop me a PM if you want it, or try your local maplin, they usually have them in stock.
