Viewing Smellybiker maps and .gdb files
After spending many frustrating hours and going in ever decreasing circles, can anyone help!!
I've loaded Worldeast (as a Smellybiker subscriber) and a waypoints file (kindly directed to by Colebatch) onto the SD card on my Garmin Zumo 400 in preparation for a trip across Mongolia/Siberia. The map and waypoint file are shown on the SD card when I open Windows explorer but I can't figure how to run them. Any help very gratefully received!!! |
I do not know the specs of your Zumo
However, a common error is to copy everything into the root of the SD card 1st there has to be a folder called Garmin on the root of the sd card ALL other folders are sub folders to it, so: A map image goes into the Garmin folder A GPX file goes into a GPX named folder which is IN the Garmin folder Yiou can have more than one map image in the Garmin folder- just rename them: gmapsupp1.img gmapsupp2.img gmapsupp3.img being careful not to change the.img extension - that is for the GPS to use and not for the 'nut' which connect the handlebars to the bike!!:blushing: |
Thanks
Thanks for the pm and the time spent on the phone Bertrand- it's all very much appreciated.
