Website - slide show
Hi all
Not sure whether this is the most appropriate place to post this question, but it seems to be the closest. Have a look at this website of Julian Voelcker's and the slideshow of pictures that automatically shows at the top overland-cruisers.co.ukOverland Cruisers, specialists in preparing and servicing Toyota Land Cruisers Now have a look at my very similarly named one (pure coincidence) overlandcruiser.net This website is hosted (if that's the right word) by Wordpress.com. My question - is it possible to get my website to run a slideshow of my pictures at the top? Julian did say that the slideshow on his site uses a JavaScript library based on Google's JQuery - http://malsup.com/jquery/cycle/ - but I am afraid this was double-dutch to me! Thanks Mark |
Yes it should be, If all you are wanting is a simple fade effect slideshow then you would be better off using the JQuery Cycle Lite Plugin. This is a simple .js file that you will need to place on your webserver (via FTP) then it's a simple matter of setting up the webpage to use the plugin.
See JQuery Cycle Lite Plugin for the download and also JQuery Cycle Plugin - Beginner Demos for code examples. |
I used this one on my website - Dynamic Drive DHTML Scripts- Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.51) - very simple to set up.
