2000 feet
Just back from the desert in southern Peru (remarkably similar to the area around Lake Gabroun), where we came across (what they claim) is the world's largest sand dune at 2000ft (approx 650m). It is certainly the largest I have seen on my travels - any thoughts?

Interesting !!! From my days back in Namibia I remember that there they claimed that the ones at Sossusvlei are the highest in the world. I never measured them, but I would guess that they are about 400 metres high, the highest ones.
