4 Africa Twin just returned from Morocco
Hello folks,
4 overloaded Africa Twin just returned from Morocco. The route was Ceuta-Fes-Merzouga-M6-Tagounite-Zagora -Alnif-M4-Tinerhir-Todra-2800m pass-Dades- Ait Benhaddoui-Marrakech-Cascades-Rabat-Tanger-Ceuta. If you are interesting of any information please let me know... |
Sounds like a great trip. Any problems with the bikes; punctures etc. Did you fit thicker tubes? LB.

Hi,
After 200 m in Spain rear bearing in one of AT was broken. It took 5 hours to repair it (siesta time). And to tell you the truth it was end of mechanical problems. There were some problems with trunk fixing (our inventions dindn't passed Sahara adventures). We had only one puncuture, we used thicker tubes. We travelled with passengers so we made only 500 km off road (thank you Chris for your description of M6). In first day on Sahara we rode 31 km in 5 hours (f...ng sandy oued) but later our skills improved). |
Sambor, we are going in a couple of weeks. Was there any snow on the Fez to Midelt road?

Hi there. We leave on the 16th, and aiming to do a similar route. But travelling in a landrover, we hope to cover more off road tracks. Was the weather kind to you? and is the piste now sealed from Ait Bennhadou to Kech? How did you get on with camping? Blimey, all these questions and only three days to go!
Hope you had a great time? Nick. |
crossed Midelt to Fez yesterday and there was fresh snow at side of road......Went other direction a week ago and snow was again on side but hard packed.......Fresh snow on road on Tizzi between Quassasate and Marra....and a few accidents.............Bloody cold!

Hello,
We traveled from Fes to Midelt via Boulemane. Road was fantastic. The snow was only in the mountains. No snow on the road but it was very cold and we wear everything http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/wink.gif. We were on the hurry so we took the main road from Ait Benhaddoui. We were tired after crossing mountains between Todra and Dades. The weather on the pass (2800 m) was perfect. Very hot and no snow at all (I don't know why). Piste was difficult for us (AT with luggage and passanger) but no problems with Land Rover. There is a lot of auberges and even in Sahara there were no problems with camping. If you are interesting I can give you some GPS waypoints. The very good place near Merzouga is Kasbah Panorama. Nice people, good live music, interesting prices. |
I would love to get waypoints, track and routes... I am thinking of doing the Festival Au Desert next year, so Morocco is on the way...
Please, if you can send them over to noisedata_at_motosvet.com replace _at_ with @ thanx |
Hi Noisedata
I am (in 2 days) on my way there. If you are planning the same as you say, can I make a suggestion? Raise money for SOS Children's Villages, there are 2 , one in Bamako the other in Socoura/Mopti. you can see my page here http://www.justgiving.com/bertrandsargisson (do donate if you can or ask your mates to do so!) It only takes a few minutes to get the system to make the page for you then all you do is send the link to your friends/businesses etc and the charity's web page here http://archive.soschildrensvillages....s_to_give.html In return, I'll email you my way points & info! ------------------ |
Hi, I am also planning a month long trip on an XRV650 in May 06, taking in as much Piste as possible, and therefore doing most of the "M" routes.
I would appreciate any GPS points or suggested routes, or advice you can offer. My email is johnlidbetter@yahoo.co.uk Thanks, John |
