Does anyone out there know where 70 series' can be found in Europe - the troopie or lwb s/wagon type.
I have also heard that they are cheap in Australia?

Anyone help???

Cheers

You can get short 70s in the UK (called LC II I think) but not the classic long 75s or new coil front ended 78s (started last year - stopped this year in Europe) in Holland or Germany.
The BJ75s common in Germany are only 3.5L 4-cyl - go for the 4.2/six HZJ. However, 75s are non-turbo and so more juicy (and also much more basic inside) that a comparative-tech era 60 series. In outback Australia 75s are everywhere.

Speaking as a 'chuffed' owner of a HZJ75 (Troopcarrier) they are not cheap here in Australia, you can get cheap ones but the old saying - 'caveat emptor' (buyer beware) is definately the rule of thumb when/if purchasing a Troopie in Oz.

Speaking as a previous owner of a Landrover (series 3 shortie) and a Landcruiser FJ45, the troopie is by far the best vehicle for serious adventure travel, it mighten look pretty but its not meant to, just get you there and get you back.

Well opinions are like A... (backsides) ... everones got one.

Regarding LCII's and 75's there are a number around here in Ireland, RHD of course, Some are Great cond city runabouts while some look like they just rolled clear of a slurry pit. Some are Jap imports .Prices are probably a little better than the UK at present as the weaker pound helps and also the used Car market has collapsed with the strong economy,Everybody wants a new Amazon with leather and Aircon. hope this helps.

I was actually surprised to find a good supply of TLC's in Denmark (if you like me prefer LHD)... For example http://www.jmoffroad.dk have a nice 2-door Troopcarrier for the moment... A few 60-series and other 70 series at their place too... =)
