Algeciras to Ceuta
I'm planning to take the ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta a few days before Christmas. Does anybody know if it will be necessary to book in advance (and if so how far) or it will be OK to just turn up at the ferry terminal on the day?

Hi, I used this ferry in October 2002, it runs roughly on the hour and the tickets are valid for one year. I didn't book just pitched up at the port bought a ticket and boarded the next ferry to Africa.
Have a good trip. Pete K |
You can book ahead from the UK or get a ticket at the port - shop around, prices vary wildly but its usually cheaper at the port than in the UK.

hi,
If you go by motorbike, there never is a problem: just turn up, buy a ticket and get on. With a car you could have to wait a couple of hours in the (summer) holiday period. As far as I experienced its not necessary to book in advance. Peter |
We took the ferry on 31 October 2002. We turnd up, bought the tickets (approx 35 EUR for 1 person + 1 bike depending on the engine cc) and boarded within 2 hours. We are on motorbikes but there was still plenty spaces for cars once everyone was aboard.
Border formalities into Morocco from Ceuta were very easy and relaxed. |
