Algeria in a large group on our own - visa? accomodation?
 

Hi,
we are a big group of 21 people (Czech rep., EU). We plan to visit Algeria - just the northern part. We want to travel on our own.

I wonder how difficult it is to get a visa in such a case. Is a confirmation of accommodation sufficient in this case as well?
Or can the embassy require an algerian travel agency to arrange the trip?
Do you have any tips on how to do this?

And if you have any tips on car rental ant tips on affordable accommodation (with breakfast) for such a large group, I would also be glad. We are looking to travel within a radius of Algiers, Bou Saada, Constantine.

The last two times we were in Algeria the Consulate was very helpful (I think they were pleased that anyone wanted to visit the country). We had to provide an Invitation Letter as well as typical application support.

I suggest contacting an Agency or a major hotel to obtain the Invitation Letter. If they see that there will be some income involved I think they'll help.
