Algeria visas ....
 

Has anyone actually gone through the new process of algeria visas etc. Chris mentions a transit visa on the SO website - what do you need to apply for this e.g. do you still need 'invite' etc. I'm only interested in getting down to Niger, so this would seem to fit my plans. How safe would this direct route straight down ? Any info / recent experience would be appreciated.

New rules are announced today, but the site does not tell the details. Best check with the consulates.
