Anyone done a crossover with bike?

Just a quickie-question:

Anyone who have done, or now someone who have done Atlantic - Nile by bike? (not motorized but by pedal, that is) Doesn't really matter but it would be fun to know if anyone has done a recorded trip through the fully width of the big desert down south. Of course, someone must have done it (who wouldn't give everything for it), but by bike?

I think the British Army did it many years ago, but I doubt its been done on two wheels ... go for it ... knock yourself out! I think I read its been done on foot with camels, though.
