atlantic route
 

I've posted this before and had a good response, so thought i would post it again. We did the atlantic route on the plymouth-dakar on an alternative route which avoided using guides (info supplied by Beady who writes occasionally on this site and was with our little group) If anyone is having trouble sleeping I would be happy to send them a copy of my scribbles on the trip (which include the GPS points for the 'no guide' route). travel without a guide is, however, a dangerous occupation and only undertaken at you own risk. This document runs to over 20 pages of rambling though so you have ben warned!!

are your information also good for a bicycle??
I am planning a long bicycle trip across Africa, and I do not want to travel with guides.

do you meen push bike? yikes! depends how good you are at riding in soft sand. not really a feasable option I would have thought. 350 miles of sand rock and gravel with intermittent water supplies, not really viable. If your talking motorbike then yes, definately possible if your a decent off road rider.
