Camel travel
hi! i would like to get in touch with anyone who has done any longer camel travel in or thru the Sahara. I am planning to cross from east to west by camel. I would be honured indeed to hear from you. Mikaelexplorermikaelstrandberg@gmail.com

Hello Mikael. We met one time after Kolyma (and I saw an Ally the other day and thought of you.)
Have a look at constanttrek From the west she got as far as Mali-Niger border but had to give up as last year was bad. It's looking a bit better now in Niger. Technically it is possible of course, but politically less and less so, especially in the east. Ch |
Keep an eye on Niger, the President dissolved Parliament the day before yesterday; what happens next???
Fingers crossed it will stay calm especially in the north! Kira |
thanx a lot for the reply´s!
the countries i am eyeing in on is Egypt, Libya, Algeria and Morocco. I am beginning in Oman and passing through Yemen, Saudi and Jordan before crossing the Sinai into Cairo I guess.

As long as you don't mind entering and leaving Libya at the coast (ie: exiting into Tunisia from wher you access Alg) and then heading from Alg to Mauritania, it all becomes less complicated, but less purely Saharan IMO.
