Cameroon transit visa
Hi,
In order to avoid the northern Lake Chad route going from Niger to Chad, one has little choice but to go via Nigeria and Cameroon. Cameroon visa in Europe cost a hefty USD 75 pp which seems quite steep to me considering it's not more than a 2 hour, 90 km drive. I came across a Dutch website (www.mdevoogd.nl) of 2 guys who managed to obtain Cameroon transit visa on the border entering from Nigeria (Fotokol). Best of all it was hassle free and free of charge. Since I haven't really come across information on transit visa anywhere else, I was wondering if anyone in this forum has any (recent) experience with transit visa for northern Cameroon? cheers, Camiel |
You can pick it up in both Ndjamena and in Nigeria, normally straightforward and fairly cheap. Met several travellers going both ways that did this. Only slight issue in Nigeria is this does tie you in to going into a major city to get it - depending on how stablability at the time can be an issue.
