Cycle Commuting Maadi
 

Moving to Cairo soon, and;

I want to commute daily from Maadi to New Giza (on non-horrific pollution days). Would you recommend against that for any reason?

Maadi to Ain Sokhna, Maadi to Alexandria, solo riding...not recommended?

Pertaining to the same routes; I will also have a 15-200cc scooter, warnings in the same regard for doing those routes?

Well...

Given that 2 wheels & 4 wheels are mixed up, and in Cairo traffic it is the survival of the fittest, it is just a matter of time until the brute laws of statistics will catch up. Same applies for longer trips on roads with heavy traffic (like the Alex/Sokhna roads), it is asking for trouble.


PS: I learned to drive in Cairo...
