East of Atlas?
Hello and Mary Christmas!
I am planing a motorcycle trip through Marocco, going south, in the beginning of March. Is there anyone out there who ca tell me about the possibillities of traval south, east of the High Atlas. Fx, Melilla to Oujda or Guercif, towards Er Rachidia and Ouarzazate. Cheers Haakon:thumbup1: |
Atlas info
Hi
We spent 5 weeks in Morocco and got back end of november. We spent a lot of time in the Atlas so any questions we may be able to help with Becky |
The coastal area around Nador is supposed to be very pretty with gorges of Zegzel. The green strips alongside roads on Michelin 742 map is normally a good indication of beauty. One of the six coastal developments of the government's 'Plan Azur' is at Saidia.
To head south, I would go via Guercif and Taza. There are some deep grottes near Taza, and the road Merhaouia to Immouzzer-des-Marmoucha is a great ride. When you get to Boulemane, I would go to Midelt via Timahdite and Col du Zad, rather than the really boring road via Taouerda. Tim |
Hi Tim!
Your suggestions are very much appreciated Tim. Sounds like you had a good time and a nice ride.
Cheers Haakon |
