Europe - Cameroun (2 way) Libya-Niger border only southways?
Hi all,
We are considering a return trip from Europe to Northern Cameroun (Maroua, near N´Djamena) by 4x4. We would like to know if this is viable, we have about 1.5 month to spare and want to spend at least 2 weeks in Cameroun with family. The route which looks most viable/fastest is Tunisia - Libya - Niger - Chad - Cameroun. The problem I see here is that the Libiya-Niger border seems to be open south-bound only - is this true? So: what would be a good route for us? Is it indeed the one I mentioned? and: is the Libya-Niger border only open in the southern direction ? Any other comments are welcome as well! Cheers! Martin |

Yes - so come back via Algeria:Agadez to Tam, or Chirfa to Djanet if you are feeling adventurous. (Guide need in Alg of course, and probably in Tenere). http://www.sahara-overland.com/routes Ch |
