extend visa in Mali?
 

leaving in a couple of days, just got my Mali visa today. it is issued for much shorter period than i applied for, and nothing can be done i suppose. i only got 8 days!
i guess i'll have to get to Mali and extend it there. any recent experiences of doing so? where would you do it, how much it may cost? will i have to come up with 'official reasons' to justify extension? any other practical advise on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

It's easy to extend your visa in Bamako, Mali. We extended for 3 months, no questions asked. It costed 7.500 CFA at the time, you need some pictures (2 or 3), and , buy the stamps you need before you go to the officials that issue your visa. Be polite, that will save you some time (costed us 3 extra days of waiting as we were not)
