ferry to italy from tunisia
Hi all!
I have a map, that says there is a ferry from tunis to palermo(sicily) Map is from 1991. Does that line works today? I'v heard that there is only to Napoli today!? Did some one has a personal expirience? If so how much it costs for a bike and me? Thanks http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif |
Hi there!
I don't think tere is a ferry from Palermo to Tunis. There is one however from Trapani in Sicily (approx 120 kms East of Palermo)to Tunis (see Linee Lauro, www.traghettionline.net). Ferries also go to Tunis from La Spezia, Naples and Genoa. By the way I am in Ljubljana in SLovenia and I went to Africa last year in my Land Rover but went from Genoa to Barcelona and then drove to Southern Spain to get a ferry from Almeria to Melilla in Marocco! I reckon Genoa to Tunis is the best route but I am not sure about your visa entry requirements and so on. Check out the above web sites, it gives various routes by ferry around the central med region. Cheers, Andy |
Take a look at <http://www.traghettionline.com> as well. They have more options. For example the Tirrenia company (<http://www.gruppotirrenia.it/default.htm>) that plies between Trapani, Tunis and Sardinia.

We (2 motorbikes & 1 TLC) took the ferry from Genoa to Tunis November last year. This was a very good and quick connection.
the costs for the car, two persons and a cabin which for two (with four beds however) costed maybe about EUR 500, where the majority of the cost is for the car. The motorbikes were much cheaper of. Succes. ------------------ |
