Flying a motorbike to Djanet or Algiers or Sahara
I have been toying with the idea of flying with my bike to Djanet (and back) from the UK. Anyone else thought of doing similar? I would assume the possibilities are:
Uk - Algiers then head south by road From UK Ride to Paris - Fly direct to Djanet From UK Fly to Tozeur (Tunisia) then ride across. Perhaps fly to Niger and ride 'up' anyway I appreciate your ideas. Karim ------------------ karim@desertbiking.co.uk www.desertbiking.co.uk |
if you're looking to avoid the tar and time taken to ride, then I'd be inclined to talk with Karim at Air Algerie Heathrow about sending your bike out ahead of you. I don't recall the reason, but it was £300 to send a bike and £150 to bring it back. Karim's number is on Chris Scott's website under the tips section on shipping a bike home. next time I go, I plan to either airfreight or drive down with the bikes in the van across the med and down through algeria.

I think CS flew his bike back (from Tam?) after his mishap last year.
