Fuel availability around Seguedine
Should the 953 be regarded as definitive for fuel availability? Obviously allowing for intermittent shortages! In Morocco, we found fuel in sunflower oil bottles where none was marked. I'm particularly keen to know if petrol can be found at Bilma or Seguedine. Thanks for your help.

hello Richard!
Best place to get fuel in this corner is Chirfa! Ursula |
sorry - I meant DIRKOU of course (on the black market)

From my experience I would say the 953 is surprisingly good on fuel availability (if not on tracks), notwithstanding temporary shortages as you say. There may not always be a 5 star Texaco with microwave pasties and bags of charcoal - but it will be there if you ask around.
It's worth noting the petrol pump is broken at Bordj el Haouas and they don't look like they're going to rerpair it in a hurry - Djanet being so near. Actually there was diesel at Chirfa from the drum - but iot comes via Dirkou (Libya). Don't know about petrol... Chris S |
a few weeks ago Jerome's son was selling
200 litres of Diesel = 70'000 CFA in Dirkou |
