Gif Kebir from Libya and back
 

I am lookin to organize on November a tour with friends from Tunisia, Libya, Egypt (Siwa and Gif Kebir)and back . Is it possible ???

It is possible but you will need a local guide, a soldier/escort, lots of time for them to organise all the permits - and of course lots of fuel (let alone all the regular hassles of Lib & Eg borders)

Siwa to Gilf can be quite easy if you keep west.

and another german mate was there recently with VW synchros going UP the Monod Pass which means a quite easy loop around the southwest Gilf (Wadi Sora, Fogg Cave, etc) is possible

Might see you out there in November! It's a great part of the desert.

I think having 2 passports is the way to do it but I will ask the German guy.

[later...] yes, he used 2 ppts. Libya has prolonged the time between issueing a visa and using it to 45 days
