In Dakhla - help needed
I arrived in Dakhla alone this afternoon by public transport. I'm heading for Mauritania. Having asked numerous people this afternoon everyone has assured there is not a bus service to the border. Can anyone shed any light on this for me & hopefully confirm that there is a bus?
If there is not a bus but there are any overlanders in the area who are heading to Nouadhibou in the next few days & have space in a car and would like to save money on petrol then I am at Hotel Al-Moukaouama in the town centre and would be most grateful of a ride (will check this forum). I have been quoted 500 Dirhams for a petit taxi to the border if any independent travellers are around and fancy sharing that. Finally - do customs have to be cleared in Dakhla or is that done at the border? Many thanks, Hyla Campbell. |
I heard somewhere that there might be the opportunity of a shared taxi, but apart from that I'm pretty sure there's no bus from what I've been hearing:
I'm doing this route in a couple of weeks time using public transport so please keep us/me posted on your progress. How much traffic is there on that route at this time of year? - What about a lift in a truck? If you could tell me about how your progress went at the border and on to Noakchott and where customs were I would be really, really grateful. My email is dominiconeillhotmail.com |
