Libya in June -- Any Interest?
 

I am looking to travel through Libya in June. It appears that I need to be part of an organized tour in order to get a visa. Thus I wanted to see if anybody else is interested in a Libya tour, since that will reduce the price per person. I am considering one of the 8-day Mediterranean treks given the summer heat. The two reputable operators I have found are Arkno Tours and Alawy Tours. Let me know if you are interested. Prices appear to be about 100 Euro / day, all inclusive

Alawy are apparently out of business (rumor is some dispute with authorities - a pity, they were the only outfit I know that were really prepared and suitable to organise deep desert trips), Arkno is good & efficient as long as you stick to the north.

The visa situation seems to be a bit more lax these days, the minimum 4 rule seems to be selectively enforced. Contact Jamal Fteis at Arkno, will give you latest update.
