Libyan visa?
 

My boyfriend and I are in the midst of planning a bicycle tour through North Africa. We are experiencing much difficulty finding out how and where to apply for a Libyan visitors visa. I've read all the stuff about needing an invitation but I've also read that may not apply for a group of just two people. Any information about this would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anyone know how we would could relatively easily get from Tunisa to Egypt if we were unable to obtain Libyan visas? Thanks so much!!!

Last I heard the Libyan government stopped giving visas to all foreigners about a month ago, but they may have started up again. However my understanding is that even as individuals you need an invitation.

I gather that visas are possible again, but I only have 3 weeks till I leave the UK (even though I don't plan to enter Libya until Jan/Feb '04) and few options. anyone got any good ideas for entering via Tunisia having ridden from south africa? ie not having applied in London.
