Mali - ferry
 

Anyone know the timetable from Gao? I read that the ferry leaves every Thursday, is it still valid? Is it possible to make a reservation thought telephone? If yes, do you know the number?

Sorry, I probably need to clarify my question, the ferry to Mopti.

If you are just getting the ferry across to Gao it goes about 4 or more times a day - depends if it is broken or not. Takes about a minute to cross.

We arrived and it had broken down on the otherside of the river and had to wait a couple of hours before we crossed.

Just turn up and there is a bun fight to get on first!

If it is a ferry up or down the river then I dont know.

Crossed from Gao to the other side of river Niger in January this year. Just turned up and waited about 20 minutes. Can't remember the exact price but it seemed reasonable. There were two ferries quite a distance apart but one had broken down.
