Mauritania Border Closed With Senegal/Mali - Ebola
Anybody have up to date info on the closure of Mauritania's southern borders with Senegal and Mali?
Due to the outbreak of Ebola in a part of Guinea's Forest region, reports have been circulating that Mauri has closed it's southern borders. Would appreciate it if anybody shares any latest information they have. Presume the Mauri's are not letting people enter, but are allowing people to exit? |
Fellow travellers have posted some french language news in the German Wuestenschiff Forum.
According to these contradicting reports, possibly not all borders have been closed. A report in Saharanews says that all borders with Senegal have been closed except for the Rosso barge and the Diama dam: Health: Security Measures Along the Border with Senegal Another report speaks of "two border posts" that have been closed in the villages of Judrel Mohgen and Likseiba. You can follow the Wuestenschiff thread here: Mauritania closes border with Senegal All this concerns Senegal for the moment. Greetings, Achim |
Hi Achim,
Thanks for the links to the articles appreciate that! David |
Update:
I got intouch with the British embassy in Dakar via twitter. They responded and said that all borders closed with Mauritania EXCEPT Rosso and Diama (Source: Mauritania embassy in Dakar). Would appreciate anybody else sharing any up to date information they have. David |
