Mauritania visa in Brussels?
Hi Guys
Have done a bit of searching on the HUBB but can't find the answer. A while ago I read you can some sort of "visa agency" to arrange a Mauritania visa for you in Brussels, Belgium. I can't find their details anywhere though. I've read you can get it in Rabat, Moroc, but don't have the time to possibly wait around for weekends/Fridays/public holidays to end in order to get it. Paying a bit more to get it in advance is the better option for me. Thanks for any leads on where to find this agency. cheers Chris |
Hi,
I got one last Dec in Brussels. done in a day, and I was back in the UK. what do you need to know? EDIT: ah, you want an agency to do it rather than go yourself. sorry, mis-read it. if you do choose to go there's an 'africa' museum over there you can go and visit while you wait. cheers, Doug |
I used these guys for a Mali visa once, a good service:
Travcour- TRAVCOUR (UK) Ltd they do RIM as well. |

Hi Dougie Thanks for the link. £168 for a RIM visa via Travcour! Not nice... They want a vehicle carnet and guarantee letter, which is all bollox anyway. Anybody else have any suggestions? cheers Chris |
when I went over I got a £22 return ticket on euro-tunnel (midnight-4am crossing is cheapest). over in 35 mins, in brussels a couple of hours later in time for breakfast.

These guys are reasonably priced and once offered the service, but last time I asked they said the embassy was refusing Brit applications by proxy. Maybe a temporary hitch. You could always get your visa on arrival or enroute. |
Visum just told me that they cannot apply for Mauritania visas for UK nationals in Brussel (although they can do Mali visas); they would have to hand your passport to ActionVisas in Paris.
I don't know whether or not visas can be obtained in person at the Mauritanian consulate in Brussels. However, it sounds like the consulate in Paris is now an option again. |
Any Updates on Visas..??

This is an old thread. Plenty of more recent posts on here about getting it in Casa, which is what most do. Or see Sahara Overland ~ Mauritania visa

1. Apply face-to-face in Rabat (here) - the easiest and fastest method 2. Apply face-to-face in Brussels or Paris - but ring them first before attempting this and allow for 2-3 days wait. 3. Apply by post via a visa agency in France or Belgium. (The Brussels consulate now accepts proxy applications and I assume also Paris.) Note that when applying in advance in Europe they will ask for air tickets and invitations and the process can be problematic. Arranging a visa when arriving by road (or by air in NKT or Atar) has been an option in the past, but this is no longer possible. No exceptions. To summarise: get it in Rabat if you can. Information correct in April, but as always with Mauri subject to the desert winds! |
