Nema to Timbuktou
 

I am taking a 4x4 London to Ghana departing the end of March. I have done this run a few times but a few years ago now. I understand that it is now possible to go directly from Nema to Timbuktou and then south to Mopti. Am I on the money with this??
Any info on this bit would be just super.

We - 3 dutch guys with a 4wd- are also researching the possibility and expect to be in Mauretania beginning of april. Maybe we can join forces in the research. I already found out the easiest part: info about the physical road and piste. Security is a different matter, in the end nobody can tell till in Mauretania. Hope to hear from you .
