Nema to Tomboctou?
 

This is marked as a piste on my 953. Anyone attempted it or have any info about it i.e. Terrain, Safety?

Hi!
From Nema to Bassikounou is some kind of road. After this village we prefered to head to Lerneb - Ras el Ma - Goundam. There were old tracks from time to time. From Goundam to Timbuktu is also some kind of piste. The region around Lere is not very recommended: Bandits and ethnic clashes. It is not very safe all the way unless you have a local guide or you are a very experienced offroad and Africa driver!
