Prison for german artrobbers
 

Five germans were sentenced to three months in prison this week for stealing artefacts in the Algerian Sahara. Look at www.shop-netz.at/Detailed/3060.html were these kind of artefacts are for sale. Unfortunately pictures have been moved away. However: this guy does not seem to be among the persons sentenced in Algeria.

Do we even know the identities of these people? It seems odd that no names have been released and that the German state is taking it so well - but maybe I missed it.

Yes ther are names published. But every time they are written differently by the Algerian press. El Watan writes: E. Hellmeler, D. Lehman, C. Wolf, E. Kellner and G. Wofzang. Other Algerian newspapers come with slightly different names. I suppose they prefer the Arab alphabet.
