Rebels in Chad and shooting in N'Djamena
According news of today, rebels have entered the capital N'Djamena and the presidents residence is under siege. The streets are full of tanks and there is heavy fighting.

UN Mandate today (4th Feb) should now allow the French troops in Chad to pile in on the government side. Over the weekend they could only help foreign nationals evacuate. With the size of the French force available (together with the mirage air cover), what was looking to be a drawn out tussle may end more quickly - for now at least.
