Recent TIP experiences for Egypt? (No carnet!)
 

Hey now.

Has anyone got any recent experience with obtaining a TIP for Egypt at the border with Sudan? I read in an older thread that it might be possible to put down a deposit of US$800 and reclaim when you leave. I'd be aiming to ship to Turkey from Alexandria.

Any advice much appreciated, and sorry if I'm retreading well covered ground!
