Sete-Tangier ferry
I am planning a short trip to Morocco in October and have been quoted 276 euros for the return crossing (Sete/Tangier) with Comarit. This is for my bike and myself with a bed in a shared cabin for the 2 nights each way. It also includes all meals on board (which I reckon total 10 !). It all seems pretty good value when compared to P&O or Britanny Ferries so I was wondering if anyone has experience of it and what the catches are (if any). Also can you deal with any of the border crossing/customs stuff on the ship as it would save a lot of time and messing about in Tangier ?

Hi Nick. No catches. It's just not one of these "Disney World on sea" things as they cross the channel. It's a Moroccan ferry, pretty simple but nice. The only thing to do realy is a small bar (yes, they do sell beer) and to enjoy the sea. And maybe a bit of a cultural shock if this is your first time, but that's what it is about http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hi there,
I took that boat back in May, it's a great way to cover a lot of distance for very little cost but as has been said it is no pleasure cruise. The facilities on the boat are quite basic and it is a long trip with not much to do so I would recomend taking a good book. It is however a good way to start getting into the rythmn of Morocco! When I took the trip I was able to do most of the paperwork on the boat making the border crossing pretty quick and simple. Just keep an ear open for the announcement to do the paperwork (around midday if I remember correctly). Cheers, Chris. |
