Tyre gauge
Hi,
Currently the only way I have of checking my tyre pressure is to get out my air compressor and fart around with a long set of wires to the battery etc Can anybody recommend a small hand held and accurate Tyre Pressure gauge? Maybe one that will deflate tyres as well? Cheers, Darrin |
Darrin,
A good analogue unit is what you are after (about £20 or so). The best way to deflate tyres is with a valve removing tool (which you want to have in your toolbox anyway - just watch that you don't let too much out otherwise you'll end up re-inflating!! Sam. |
Footloose 4x4 in Peterborough stock a well-made traditional one(gauge with needle as opposed to digital)which has a deflator "pin" on it. Approx 25GBP

You can get simple analogue plastic ones at most larger car appliance stores for about 1-2 pounds. Due to the very simple design they work well under all conditions, and are small and slim enough to fit in a trouser or vest pocket. I take 4-5 of these on a trip, never felt the need for anything fancier. They also have a deflator pin.
