Vaccinations
Are there any vaccination immigration requirements into Mauritania or Mali (eg Yellow fever) ?

You're supposed to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate for Mali but when we were there in 2004 we were never asked to produce it at the border.
|
Because, acccording to the consular info, you're supposed to produce it together with the visa application. Does anyboyd know differently?

In Casa 2003 southbound and Ouaga 2004 northbound nobody asked for ours. Ripped us off in Casa, but no certificates required.

Hi,
actually there are cases of yellow fever in Mali and Guinea: http://www.who.int/csr/don/2005_11_03/en/index.html Yves |
I guess it's worth carrying the certificate then - just in case. Officials might get vigilant if there are cases locally.
|
It's worth getting vaccinated, that's for sure. As the certificate comes free with the vaccination you might as well take it along.

It sounds like you've got the same piles problem as I have...
of papers of course |
I've never been asked for a yellow fever certificate when applying for a Mali visa, and never when entering the country by land. However, each time I've arrived at Bamako by air I've been asked for a 'carnet de vaccination'.

it costs £60 and gives you flu
