How long does a single-entry visa from Rabat remain valid and what length of stay does it allow in the country?

Hi,
I'd been planning to go to Mori but I was told it is not quite safe to go somewere far from main roads a specialy by one car. I've heard region around Choum and Atar is a zone of high risk of kidnaping ( german, swiss and polish ambassy). Under these circumstances I do not know what to do :( ,should I stay or should I go ? Please advice, thanks. br, Piotr |
I would say north and east of those towns might be risky but few people ever go far beyond Choum, Ching or Guelb. There have been many nasty attacks on garrisons and patrols up there in recent years.
But if anything the south - NKT and Aleg - are statistically less safe for westerners. Stick to the main pistes and don't go alone. PP; Last I knew a Rabat visa allows 50 days in Mori. I recall they wanted a specific date of entry (not so hard to est. from Rabat) so validity, dont know. For a visa Rabat seems more reliable these days than the border and takes a day or less. Ch |
After reading this and after discussions with UN officers in Laayoune we've decided not to go to Mori alone (by one car).
I'm sorry I will not report anything about visas at the border. I have to organise a group for going there for better exploration. Going just on main roads down south from Nouadhibou is not enough for me. Piotr |
