Western Sahara - alternatives to the road?
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has recent knowledge of any good alternatives to the Tan Tan - Fort Guergerat road in Western Sahara? Some maps show a number of pistes which could be theoretically stitched into a more interesting journey than the interminable road. However, the area is obiously a bit sensitive and I'm not sure of how possible it might be to plot an laternative course? Hope you can help. Cheers - Andy ------------------ AndyBee |
Erm,
was this a silly question or something? :-) |
I'm afraid it was Mr Bee. You have disappointed us all and, worst of all, let yourself down.
If there had been any alternatives we would have been taking them for years! Who wants to drive on tarmac in the Sahara any more than they have to? Inland is the berm, in both the 'pile of dirt' and 'Peter Sellers' sense. But, give Smara (MK) to Bir Mog (MR) with official consent, a crack. I nearly did. Chris S |
I feel thoroughly chastened and will desist in this line of questioning at once.
You know how it is - you look at a map, see a piste and think 'I wonder what that's like'? The Smara route looks interesting though. Cheers and apologies. Andy ps. who is Peter Sellers? [This message has been edited by andybee (edited 30 January 2004).] |
He, like me, is a dead comedian.
