What is at Amguid?
I think the subject covers the question?!
Sam. |
As you may have read, a Village From Hell, a friendly military base down the road, a nice erg, a well down the escarpment, fast tracks north & south and bumpy tracks east-west. plus a couple of craters N and W.

...and an automatic weather station that sends data directly to the satellite network......

On the craters, how easy is it to get to the one approx 60Km west (N26 5' , E4 23')?

Sula,
That's great! Going to go and have a look early November. Thank you! Sam. |
Have a nice trip - maybe w'll meet!
(Swiss Landrover from Genoa/Italy to Tunis, Algeria etc) Ursula What about this one: http://www.image-contrails.de/algeria/index.html |
We're highway down to Djanet, arriving there the 31 October. Then across and up to our crater for about the 3rd Nov. Down to Tamanrasset then across back to Djanet by looping down towards Niger border and up through Erg Admer. Back in Djanet the 11th.
Two Land Rovers and eight 'bikes. It'll be quick but fun. What is your where and when?! Sam. |
2 - 30 november: we will be a very small group and thats our programm - Inschallah !http://www.redjemexpeditions.ch/Reis...gerien2002.pdf

We'll be very near and very far away!!
Have a good trip. Hopefully you will not find your 'small' group to be as much a problem as you think?! Sam. |
Sam - are you interested in craters and geology? Back home I was looking at the IGN map "In Azaoua"... If you dont stick to the pistes there is another crater WSW of the Erg Admer at, I would say about N 23° 44' and E 8° 30' some km north of the well (with or without water...) Tiririne.
It is called Tin Ghoras and has some interesting geological formations PS: I am never worried in the Sahara, only on the highway from Switzerland to the port in Italy and back! |
