What to look out for in a used Fj60
I'm currently selling off my Land Rover Series III (sadness, hehe) and yesterday I was down south & checked out a 1982 FJ60, the problem is just that I'm not really sure what to look out for...
What problems can I expect & what do I look out for on a 20 year old TLC FJ60? Tnx folks! =) Johan G* PS. Give me a Landie & I'll give you a checkover, hehe, but new in this TLC-business... ;^/ |
Rust most of of all - then check big end bearings if around 200,000 km + - (I didnt and paid the price, but mine was a rough one).
plus all the usual worn out things - basically the engine and transmission shoud be fine. Avoid the 83 models - only 100ch, the ones befopre had 105, after they got 107. A 61 is much nicer (136ch) and more economical (but pricier). Chris S |
