Will I have a problem ? Different drivers returning vehicle
In October 2007 we will be overlanding from the UK to Ghana where we will meet up with my daughter in December. We then fly back to the UK & she and her boyfriend will then drive our Landy back.
Are they likely to encouter problems along the way with her not being the registered keeper of the vehicle. And if so, any tips as to how to overcome them TIA Ian |
car net
As far as i know it should not be a problem. Egypt are very sticky about names and car nets. We got through on company registered vehicles. they moaned a bit but finally gave in ...for a 100 dollars for 4 vehicles...not that bad.

not a problem
Just write a letter, giving permission for use (rough route, until 30 June etc.).
Sign it, and then put in annex a (REALLY clear) photocopy of your passport photo page (which also has your signature on it). Absolutely not a problem - we do it all the time with both company and private vehicles. Sam. |

depends
For this region, carnet of use only in Egypt and Senegal. If you are not going to either of those countries, then don't bother with a carnet.
If you are: Senegal you can get by with cash and laisser passer... Egypt can issue a 1 page carnet at the border (expensive and time-consuming) - but you are better getting one in Europe if you are sure you'll be going that way. Sam. |
