yellow fever certificate in Mali
when i applied for my Mali visa there was no mention of necessity of yellow fever certificate. however, some web sites, including official ones, say it is a necessary requirement to have one in order to enter Mali. where is it actually checked (if at all)? what happens if i don't have one (and i don't)? do you reckon there's a chance to get the injection in Morocco? i am travelling overland Morocco-Mauritania-Mali.

When I arrived at Bamako airport a couple of weeks ago I was asked for the certificate, but by the time I had stepped aside to look for it, the official's attention had gone elsewhere and I wandered off - he didn't follow me even though I was stood nearby at the luggage carousel for ages.
While you aren't coming in at the airport and might meet a more industrious official, at least this shows that it isn't something which all officials have been instructed to make their top priority. Simon |
Alright, we also just entered Mali via kidira(senegal)and diboli(mali) two days ago and nobody asked for it;Maybe it,s only if you,re coming from an infected area which you won,t be so I wouldn;t worry;

Hi,
picked up two Mali visas 20 mins ago (Mali embassy in Dakar) and no one asked for the yellow fever certificate. Visas cost us 22 thousand each- 7,500 for visas and other admin charges make up the rest. Cheers Simon T www.2ridetheworld.com |
