Take a look at www.cycletrader.com to get representative new and used prices in the US. Some states don't have a sales tax, OREGON being the best that I'm aware of with low registration fees and no sales tax. Others charge an additional 6 to 9% at point of sale. The low prices are the result that most of the world's government slant their taxation policies towards consumption taxes rather than income taxes as in the US.

Warranties are never internationally honored, they're the reponsibility of the importing corporation of the particular country - thta's why there's a Honda USA, Suzuki USA, etc. They're just telling you what you want to hear, like an unrealistic low price.
